My hair is naturally wavy, but i dont like it so i always just straighten it. im getting tired of this look and i dont know what to do. since i have never worn it wavy i dont really know how to fix it! can you help me with finding a cute style for my wavy hair?

If it's wavy, maybe you can scunch it to try to bring out more of the curl(don't brush it after this though, it becomes like an afro x.x) or maybe like someone said above, a ponytail. (:

I know you use a big curling iron but when i blowdry my hair, no matter how i try it ends up straight but fat and wider as you go from top of head to neck. So do i just leave it fatish, or straighten it then curl so its not fat, i have no idea. My hair is somewhat greasy after 1 day of not washing my hair but not bad so maybe i could curl it and not wash first??? I have no idea im tired of straightenin it so please help

when are hair extensions to long?

I know extension damage hair to a point but should i do it?

ok girl yes you can rock your short style and do your long extensions later too!

the least expensive and realistic method is the sew in method. the upper sections of your hair will be left loose to cover up the extensions. The rest of your hair will be cornrowed and the hair will be sewn onto the cornrows. It will NOT damage your hair if taken out within 2-3 months. In fact it actually promotes hair growth.

if you go to your stylist of look for local hair extentionist in your area they will assist you step by step. I am white but I go to black hair salons to get extensions bc they do the job just as well as the over paid white salons who claim to specialize.

your stylist may suggest going shorter, since you have thin hair, but that would also depend on how thin your hair is, most anybody can wear extensions, and most damage that may be done can usually be fixed.

i would suggest talking to your stylist first. that way you can get a professional opinion.

what i do is go and buy this stuff called Redken Vinyl Glam 02. Its 17 bucks. I know alot for a bottle of spray, but it's TOTALLY worth it .

Well take a shower, and dry your hair as much as you can with a towel, then spray in some of the spray ALL OVER (it will not make your hair oily).Then blow dry your hair while running the teeth through it, so it doesn't get nappy .

Then straighten it and put a little more spray (if necessary). and wahlah. Also you need to use a good hairstraightener (i recommend a Chi, it's what i have).

Well, a good flat iron that can go 2 high temps should keep your hair straight. I have straight hair =X and I use an "Ion" brand straightener. It can go up to 400 or so degrees and conditions your hair at the same time =D As for ur poofiness, I would partially blow dry your hair half way. It should reduce the poof ;)

As far as products go, Sabino Moisture block is EXCELLENT!!! (Look at any customer review, they'll tell you the same.) This stuff is a serum you work into your hair after you shampoo, and you can use it to keep curls from frizzing, straighten with a blow drier or flat iron, etc....

....But here's the thing that separates this from all the other products! It is NOT WATER SOLUBLE!!! You could go out in fog, rain showers, 100% humidity, even swimming (bonus-protects against chlorine damage) and your hair will NOT FRIZZ. I swear to god. My city is like an oven in summer from the humidity, and i've gotten caught in a few storms, and my hair never poofs at all. Ever! And this is the only thing I put into my super, super curly and frizz prone hair!

Also, it has no alchohol. And your hair always looks smooth, supple and shiny because it locks moisture into your hair. With that extra moisture, you can use a nice ceramic flat iron ( I use the FHI Platform--it's cheaper than the CHI and works much, much better ) and touch up your hair EVERY DAY with VIRTUALLY NO DAMAGE! (and if anyone's hair would be damaged by that, it's mine...i've bleached it to within an inch of it's life)

I've spent a fortune on other products to help with my frizzy hair, to straighten it, and this does cost about $20 but a little goes a looong way. I use it three times a week on my shoulder length hair and the bottle lasts me 3-4 months.

Bottom line, try it. You definately won't be dissapopinted.

I have i think a 3/4 curling iron and a straight iron. Are there any special things I can do to get my hair wavy? I don't want it curly . . I hate those big fake curls. I love wavy/messy whatever you want to call it. If you've seen that photoshoot of Kelly Clarkson with the short black wavy hair. She has a red shirt and big dnagling necklaces with what looks like black pearls. And yeah it was in her My December Page Art. I love that shoot and I love her hair in that shoot.

Here is an idea...you got bobby pins? Wet your hair..put gel in it.. then twist small sections and pin then down with the pins..let them dry and it will give you a really awesome bohemian textured look without the grandma roller set curled look LOL!

u want to learn how to get layers???...um. well, the way i do it, i tie all of my hair at the top of head (crown) then jus cut straight across very neatly. so then, wen u let go of the tie, ur hair shud be in layed all around...if u want mor, then u shud tie all of ur hair near ur forhead then cut across to...AlWaYs cut little than wat u want, so u can keep cuttin off nd off...cause if u jus cut evrythin u want, theres not turnin back...

-as for the wavy part...i lik to put gel or mousse on wet/dry hair then puttin into a bun. since u say ur hair is sorta curly, i suggest puttin it into a tight bun nd try to put som straightenin cream on b4 so it wont be to curly, u want waves. after waitin till it drys...lik next mornin, release the bun nd u shud get pretty waves...

i had the same problem i tried the chemical straightening and it worked but it ruined my hair....as it grew out the ends were straight and the top was wavy. i had to cut my hair really short which was only to my shoulders but i was used to having longer hair..i will never chemically straighten it again because i know what it does to your hair. i have just learned to deal with my wavy hair.

if you hair is thin the best thin you can do is just let it rest. Don't flat iron to often but do go to the salon often. Don't over wash it and cut of the weak ends. Also use deep conditioners. Just simply let it be for a while then you can start to have tons of fun once you see improvements.

It's best not to chemically straighten unless you use the japanese straightening systems - they last longer and are less damaging.

They are very expensive though, and maintaining it is expensive (retouches are every 3-4 months).

It will work though...but I'm not sure if your hair is in good enough condition with the blonde color. If you used bleach, it might not be a good idea. I'm not really familiar with the japanese systems as they're not very popular where I live.

I have really flat, straight hair. I want to make it a little wavier, but all I can find is advice like "braid it". My hair's too short for that since I'm a guy.

Waves are simply curls. In order for your hair to wave you must first be able to develop a curl. Correct me if I'm wrong but you said your hair was short and straight, and the only way I see possible for your hair to become wavy is by : 1st allow your hair to grow and have your stylist to braid (or twist) your hair. Once you take the braids (or twists) out you should have developed a wave pattern to your hair. My second suggestion would be for your stylist to "rod set" your hair. This also will call for your hair to be at least 2 1/2 inches long.

You can buy the suave brand in mousse that helps your hair have wave and body. All you have to do is apply it after you towel dry your hair after you wash it.

Most stores should carry a reasonably priced brand of shampoo and conditioner that promote waves. Depending on the texture of you hair, these might work well.

Another recommendation I would have is buying a diffuser attatchment for your blow dryer. Put your blow dryer on the low setting with high heat when you use it. Turn your head down towards the ground and dry moving back and forth with the dryer while scrunching your hair upwards with your other hand.

If none of these work well then you might want to have someone french braid your hair when you get out of the shower and sleep on it as it dries and you will definitely have wavy hair in the morning.

Try it all out before the day you want your hair wavy. You don't want to have a hair disaster!!!

sounds like you need some intense hydration in that hair. Bumble and Bumble treatment hydration it's a white and blue packaging the conditioner is great they have a whole mini set you can try too

get 'bed head control freak' . that makes your hair less frizzy haha cuz i have kinda frizzy hair in the morning. i got mine at nordstrom rack. Also i died my hair way too much and the parts that are bleached dont curl as well as they did( i have naturally curly hair). I would probably just not die your hair for a while. thats what i did and my hair feels better already. also trim your hair a lot because you get a lot of split ends if you die your hair too much. i hope this helps :)

Hair dye can damage your hair and dry it out. You should always use really good conditioner so your hair stays healthy. I use leave in conditioner when I don't blow dry and it comes out fairly straight. Usually I blow-dry and use Aussie's heat protector and shine spray.

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

hi i have really wavy hair. not the cute kind of wavy but the wavy that goes EVERYWHERE. and i have that conair hair dryer/straightner and it keeps it straight a little and then i straighten it with my starightner and it will stay straight for an hour and will then poof out. and all of my friends stay straight all day. does anyone have any tips or whatever? thanks!

i use a baybliss straightener and i LOVE it, or there is a chi, for the amount that you will use it the investment is well worth it!

first of all, conair isnt really a good brand. the chi is a great straightener you should think about getting that. and then maybe get some type of product that will be good for the health of your hair, since you straighten it, and maybe one to get like sleek hair or something. i would ask your hairdressor for some more tips=)

I have the same type of hair it sounds like. I did the same thing over and over, and then finally broke down and paid the $600 for japanese thermal hair straightening. It was soooo worth the money! My hair is sleek and beautiful and actually reflects light now. I don't have to mess with it everyday, and in the morning I just run the brush through and maybe touch up a couple of spots with my flat iron. The system the salon used was iStraight. Good stuff...good luck!

I had the same problem...but no more. If you want to fix it long term, then get a japanese straightner put in your hair. It's great.

My hair is the same way. I use Herbal Essences "Dangerously Straight" Shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, and mousse. I blow dry my hair with the mousse.

I used to have a conair straightener... not the best brand at all! I would reccomend a Paul Mitchell straightener, or a chii. Both of them aren't cheap, but they last for a long time and they get to a good temperature to tame the hair. I use a paul mitchell straightener, and my hair is straigher than a pin. (you can get a paul mitchell straightener from your hair stylist for about $115).

I know that i just asked this question, but or some reason it was removed and i couldn't get to the answers.

i really like the whole "scene hair" style and i really want to get my hair cut something like that way, but i don't want to lose my curls/waves. My hair's not really frizzy tight curls, but more like loose curly waves about a bit longer than my shoulders. Is there any way that i can get this kind of hair cut like this without it looking stupid, like any particular way i can style it? Picture are GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Thank you all!

so don't have it straight because scene hair doesn't always have to be. I mean scene is about being different so yeah keep the curls.

Just volumize you curls by tiping your head forward, spray you roots then flip your head back up and then add a massive hair bow, clip or headband to compliment your hair colour. just straighten the fringe. and then you could buy some clip in colour hair extensions to make it look scene tastic.

but if ya do decide to get layers your curls won't work it'll go weird and then it'll be "hello 230'C hair straighteners"

The whole "scene hair" thing is straight, choppy hair, so if you want it, you're gonna have to lose your curls.

You could try straightening your hair, go to the barber, have it cut all choppy or whatever and then always straighten your hair when you want "scene hair". You could also let your curls be, and hopefully it'll be appear as layers...

You will probably have to straighten your hair. My hair's naturally curly, so my stylist had to give me a dry cut after she straightened it. Also, what it looks like when it's straight- it'll be even shorter and harder to deal with when it's curly. Sooo, f your hair isn't really that curly, invest in a cheaper straightener and use products in your hair.

And tell them to cut it like that.

You can't have scene hair unless you straighten it....thats is how scene hair is.

Its like saying you want spiral curls but without the curl part.

Try buying a pretty cheap straightener at your Walmart or Target they range from about 20-30 dollars.

Buy heat spray as well.

Preferably Treseme heat protector spray.

My hair is thick. It dries out easily. I currently use Garnier Fructis [Sleek%26amp;Shine Sheer] Shampoo and Conditioner. I also use their smoothing leave in conditioner, sunsilk straighten up creme, and occasionly a Chi smoother. I have a Revlon Tourmaline straightener. It is white and red and 1 inch wide. But I need to know how to straighten my hair WITHOUT the iron and blowdryer. I need a FAST way so that when i shower at night I wake up in the morning with at least FAIRLY straight hair. The procedure can not take more than 15 minutes or so. It can include shampoos, conditioners, cremes, clips, rollers, brushes, ponys, etc. I can also sleep on it. But my hair is layered so it flips under after I sleep. I dont want it to do that. I just need to know how to make my hair at least somewhat straight at home %26amp; inexpensively.

you could have it chemically straightend but beware it looks horrid when it grows out and alot of hairdressers dont recommend it because it's so bad on the hair

I don't think there is anything, other than getting your hair chemically straightened, something like a reverse perm. You can try combing and combing while your hair dries but that never worked for me.

i suggest cutting your hair short, my sister did and she looks like she's twenty one shes 17 though, short hair is very easy to style and takes barely any time to, (though it looks like you spent a long time on it) cut it till its about an inch long, and spike it, it has a very sophisticated look, and its very mature.

My hair is really thick too the best answer that I can give is what I do. Buy a really good flat iron Mine cost about 40 bucks and I get my hair thinned out every 3 months and iron it every day. That way your hair is cute, thin and straight!

My dad is bald, as are most of the males on his side of the family. Every male on my mom's side of the family kept all of their hair until death, so I'm hoping I inherited my hair from that side of the family.

Before losing his hair, my dad had dark brown, thin, straight hair that always receeded a bit at the temples. I have hair like my maternal granfather though, thick, black, wavy hair and a straight hairline. Because I inherited so much from that side of the family, hopefully I also recieved their hair's longevity.

But incase this is something I'll have to worry about, do hair transplants actually work? Also, how fast are they improving them?

I'm 16 and my dad started losing his hair in his 20's, so I figure I have a while before I have to worry about it and hopefully they'll improve a bit more by then.

i actually just learned this in school the other day. they work for a while but then it just doesnt "stick" anymore. once you go bald, your hair completely stops growing. if you try to "transplant" hair onto your hair, it will work and seem real for a while but im pretty sure its not gonna last.

I have very frizzy and wavy hair. I use to use flat iron straightners to fix my problem, but after a year or so of doing that everyday, I noticed how damaged and brittle it made my hair. I stopped and only straightened my hair once in awhile. However, that meant putting my hair up in a bun a lot, which I thought made me look very frumpy. I recently started using those hook up diffusers you put on blowdryers after I noticed them being used at salons to style and dry hair. I like the results, even if my hair isn't as straight with a flat iron, but it gives me shiny, tame hair with a bit of bounce and volume in it. However, since I just started using it, I'm worried that it isn't less damaging as a flat iron like I originally assumed. Is there any difference or are they both just as damaging to the hair?

Straightening: Well I bought a Conair for $36 Last year year for x-mas it works really good ( called the infiniti it is ceramic and has ion technology ). I am planing on getting a new one soon maybe a month or two. If you plan on straightening make sure to clean it off every time BEFORE %26amp; AFTER you use it with warm water and a paper towel. ( reduces static ) I would also recommend getting a new hair cut or trim to make your ends nice and even; having your ends / layers nice and even helps the actual effect of you straightening therefore it looks a lot better. Straightening comes with the disadvantage of spending 45 mins. to maybe and 1 and a 1/2 hours to straighten ( DEPENDS ON YOUR METHOD IT TAKES ME 23 EXACT MINUTES! )

MY METHOD: " Turn on you straightener and while allowing it to heat up take the top part of your hair ( on the top of your head) and put it a bun ( on the top of your head ). NEXT take a piece of hair maybe 1 and a half inch wide ( depending on the size of your straightener )NEXT take your FULLY HEATED straightener and bring to the top strand of hair squeeze together and bring down very slowly BUT at any costs do not stop keep a SMOOTH motion. NEXT finish the gliding of the straightener and when you take it off you should see steam. if you dont try it again or you straightener may not be fully heated ( allow more heating time.)NEXT do all strands UNTIED ONES. THEN when finished and satisfied take another hair-tie and tie it back ( loosely! so you dont CRIMP your straightened hair. NEXT take out the bun and straighten that hair the same way. UNTIL you get to the back part of your head then untie the ALREADY straightened hair and finish. FOR BETTER RESULTS STRAIGHTEN THE REST ALL TOGETHER AFTERWARDS AND COMB ONLY BRUSHING MAYCAUSE STATIC!

HEAT PROTECTANT SPRAYS FOR STRAIGHTENING DO NOT WORK DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY AS LONG AS YOU CLEAN IT LIKE I SAID YOU WILL NOT HAVE A PROBLEM!!!

Chemiclly Straightening:

I do not actually recommend chemial straightening cause it ruins a lot of people's hair. I know a friend who payed $260 do get hers done but it is fine, and it is undamaged. Un-like straightening you dont have to do anything to your hair besides wash it and go in every so often to get it re-done. But this also comes with a dis-advantage it is permenantly straightened until chemicals wearoff; you could have it permenantly, ( be careful and have a well trusted profession do this you could ruin your hair for life!!! )

straightening sprays / creams:

I think both of these are a total rip-offI have tried to use them before I spent $120 on a 6ounce bottle!!! and it was a TOTAL waste!

I have curly, wavy hair and tend to straighten it a lot, far too much more than i should! My hair has become dry, brittle and has tons of split ends. Then i just recently started using Pantene Pro - V Repair and Protect.. It's amazing!

A simple low pony tail is cute and causal.

Make the pony tail higher and its more dressy. (also u can use a cute pony tail holder)

My favorite way is to pull the sides back and fasten with a cute barrette or clip in the back. FAB!

There are several ways to do this. A really awesome way is to pull two big strands in the back and fasten them and then pull out a little strand on each side from right above your ears and put them in front of your ears.

Another way is to get a special barrette from Walmart or the drug store and put all your hair back in a bun sort of thing.

listen , anyone that tells you to trim your dead ends or split ends and say its healthy and will make your hair grow faster is telling you a lie! That is not true. By cutting your ends your hair is gonna be shorter and look the same it will not help it grow faster. Use this moisterizer called pink oil it will help smoothen and get rid of the brittleness , just use a lil bit though. I never cut off my dead ends and my hair was brittle from dyeing it , i used a oil moisterizer and my hair grew long and started to look healthy now i can style it.

my hair is a lot like that actually.. i'd suggest you do ringlet curls, the curls tha after you wash your hair you take gel and put it in your hair and then twist the ends of your hair with your fingers to make curls and with wavy,curly hair it makes it look great! then you make a middle part with the curly gelled up ringlet curls and you put a small clip in the middle =)

I know exactly what you are going through with choosing a hair style! My hair is really curly too, although mine is from perming it. There are lots of really cute curly hair styles, but my personal opinion is that long curly hair is a great look for girls. It sounds like your hair has a beautiful natural wave to it and you definitely want to enhance that. Part your hair off to one side and get the hair framing your face cut a little shorter to add style and personality to your hair. Then, for a cute little touch, slide a beret in your hair on the side that most of your hair is on. Way Cute!

Dont forget to use good styling gels as well. The entire Curls Rock line is fabulous, and REDKEN 07 Ringlets is a very nice cream to use for curls. A VERY COOL TIP if you want to keep your hair looking naturally curly is to put sea salt in a spray bottle with water and shake it up. Then spray it all over your hair and scrunch your hair with a towel. When it dries there is no residue in your hair, no friz, and no salty smell!. You'll have curls you didn't even know existed!

I suggest for one don't blow dry it with out using a defuser.you'll probably end up with bad frizzy's. Let it air dry after applying either a curl amplifier or a mousse of some kind scrunch but not too much and let alone. you'll have cute curls that bounce and it'll get people's attention too. :)

Yes, trim your split ends or it will keep on splitting and of course fall out. Trimming hair will NOT make it grow faster! It will just stop hair from splitting so it can grow normally and hopefully be capable of having length. I use pure avocado oil and it works wonderfully on hair (dont use for scalp). To help stimulate growth try pure jojoba oil with a drop or two of rosemary oil and gently massage your scalp. Leave on overnite with a silk cap and wash your scalp with a gentle shampoo the next day. Dont over due the shampooing on your hair since it will take too much oil out and cause more breakage. I might suggest the leave out messy look for you by adding a little oil and combing out with your fingers.

I've always had hair issues. My hair is extremely thick, full and wavy. It's not over-dried or anything because I don't use chemicals and flat-iron/blow dry very little, but it's completely shapeless. I have long side-swept bangs and a one-length "blunt cut"... and my waves are very fuzzy, undefined, and often frizzy. I want to know what haircut to get and what products to use so I can make a great first impression on the first day of school.

I don't know if you are male or female if a guy you would probably want to keep it short unless you want to let it grow out and you can have some little braids all over. If a female, let me tell you I fought this battle all my life growing up. I am 56 years of age so my hair was not so in (popular) as it was called. It really was a time consuming thing and always on my mind. I could iron it in my early teens. Late teens I could let it go any way I wanted it too.

Then the blow dryer came about. Gosh for I don't know how long I woud work with my hair and the blow dryer so I could have the big hair or "Charlie's Angels's" look.

Am I ever glad that I can just get it cut with a few layers. I use a hair cream instead of gel. I do use a spray after shampooing that conditions and detangles too. Then I comb it out sometimes bend over and shake my hair out a couple times and that is it.

I have lost a lot of my hair now due to age and meds but keep your hair as long as you can. Tie it back with any kind of clips, ribbons, or pick sticks. Keep a floppy hat with you at all times for if it rains.You'll look great. Have your own style. That is what will stand you apart from anyone else in the crowd. And, you will look great!!!

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sodium laureth sulfate or anything close to that). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone are examples). Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse with cold/cool water.

- Do not brush/comb your hair after this point because it wil disturb the curl pattern (make sure you already have a part). It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair with your fingers. Use a towel or paper towels to gently scrunch some of the water out. Then let your hair air dry or wait ten minutes and then use a blowdryer with a diffuser. Do not touch the hair while it is air drying or it will frizz!

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Desert Essence Organics Italian Red Grape Conditioner (found at health food/organic stores). The combo of products that I use daily is Garnier Fuctis Sleek and Shine Leave In Cream and then Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Gel but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working.This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!

If you are tall it is good to have a little length to your hair, it evens things out a bit. I think a medium length hair cut with some layers to frame your face would be pretty if your face is oval. With length you can make your hair curly, wavy or straight. I have naturally curly hair down to the middle of my back and I am always changing how I wear it. Usually when I am going out for the night I will curl it all with a big curling iron or straighten it. But because you are tall I wouldn't go too short. I have really frizzy hair too so I can help a little. You can buy the Pink hair lotion and the Frizz Ease gel from any drug store almost. It works really well. The lotion will make your hair soft and the Frizz Ease will take the frizz out.

I have tried EVERYTHING, from cheap to expensive and everything in between. I use Aussies Moist Shampoo and Conditioner and slurge to buy a product called "blow serum" made by "Kiwi". It is great stuff and it protects your hair from damage caused by styling. A bottle is usually around 10 bucks but it lasts a couple of months depending on how long your hair is. I also deep condition 2 or 3 times a week with Aussie's 3 minute miracle and everyday I use their Hair Insurance spray leave in conditioner. Hence all the moisture and conditioning products. Also, taking a multivitamin every day improves your overall health, and as a result the protein that your hair is made out of will be healthier and stronger.

In using a flat iron, make sure that it is a ceramic flat iron. I don't really have a clue what the difference is, but they say that it is MUCH healthier for your hair to have a ceramic heat styler.

Mouse is not good for dry hair because almost always it has alcohol in it, which can dry out your hair even more. Try to find a gel that does not have alcohol listed in the ingredients. Pantene has a lot of great products, but be careful, a lot of their shampoos have a high content of wax. Which makes your hair shinier, but does a number on your hair in the long run. As far as a controlling product, its tough to say what your preferences are. If you want ultra control, your best bet is a wax, but a more flexible product that leaves hair soft would be something with a silicone base. The Kiwi product that I mentioned before is like that. All the Serums by John Frieda are similar as well.

i have this issue of putting up my hair in a ponytail.

I am a cosmetologist and I run into this with many of my clients. Many people think that the baby hairs around their hairline, just don't grow longer, which is not true. What is going on is that the hair around your hairline, and in your case below your bangs, is very fine on most people, so it breaks off very easily.

One common cause for the breakage is wrapping your hair up into a towel after you shower. It pulls on those fine hairs and causes breakage. Also, wearing your hair in ponytails, a loose ponytail is okay, but ponytails can contribute to the problem.

Make sure you are gentle when brushing your hair, and try not to wrap it up in a towel, or wear tight ponytails, that should do the trick permanently. In the meantime, you might consider using a light wax or pomade of some sort, to help them lay back. Tigi bedhead wax stick is one of my favorites. It is a pricier product, but lasts forever. You can also use it for flyaways on your hair part, when it is down.

Anyway, good luck and be patient with growing those little hairs out :0)

Hun, I know exactly what you mean. My waves are more like frizz when I've finished drying me hair!

When the frizz is particually bad, put it into a plait or into two little plaits. Not only does it look cute, but it prevents puffyness.

When it looks ok, leave it! IF you have beautifully wavy hair, let it bounce off your shoulders.

Although, the best thing I've found is just to straighten it. You can do so much with it!

I am a natural blonde and have been dying it back blonde gradually with highlights. Right now the darkest color in my hair is a medium golden blonde color. Otherwise all the highlights are a light to platinum color. What do you use to straighten it with? It's possible that you may need a professional flat iron (Hai or Chi), as the cheaper ones don't heat up high enough you give you longer lasting smooth results. Done right, pressed hair should last until the next shampoo. Be sure to protect your hair with a thermal hair protectant before you straighten it. And please don't use all that hair spray on it. The humidity in it will just make it curly again. Use a smoothing serum if you must to give it a glossy smooth finish.

Here are the guidelines for suggestions

1) I have wavy hair. I don't want a style that won't look good in wavy hair

2) No shorter than mid-neck. My hair just turns into a curly mess then

3) Something easy. Usually I take a shower at night and let it air dry, but if I feel like doing something special I'll style it

I have had the same hair style for years - a similar length to yours, though i love long hair and would never dream on having it cut short. Maybe have a few inches taken off and see if they can thin it out abit, maybe shaping it around your face could well suit you. Okay, I love to straighten my hair and keep it as straght as possible...but I have naturally wavy hair. Even if I use hairspray I'll walk outside and wait for the bus and my gorgeous flat hair gets blown around and by the time I get to school I have these horrible half curly wavy things!! I look like I just woke up when in reality I spent HOURS on my hair! I've tried so many products but nothing seems to work. Is there anything I can do to prevent my hair doing this??

**Especially because this really cute new guy just moved in and he's in my Biology class! I cant have 70s hair around him!

i straighten my hair, but when i first started, i would wake up in the morning, take a shower, blowdry my hair, and straighten it, and when i got to school my hair would be totally poofy and wavy again. So i started taking a shower at night and waking up in the morning and straightening it and it started to stay straightened. My hairstylist told me that because there is still so much heat in my hair after blow drying, that i should wait about 30 mins and let my hair get cooler and then straighten it because so much heat makes your hair not straighten as good. I also use a babyliss straightener, paul mitchell's skinny serum, and thermasilk's leave in conditioner/cream to make your hair smooth and sleek. These things work very good for me. dont get one. i got one,and its high mantience, and if your hair is not naturaly curly at all, it just gets frizzy. once it grows out to about chin length it looks retarted, and now i ethier have to put it in a pony tail everyday, or straighten it. it sucks. i dont reccomend and wavy.perm. but i do reccomend going to the hair salon and having them show your what it will look like with your hair really curly. before i got my perm, i got that done and i liked it. also it shows you how hard it is to take care of it. if after all that you still want one than go for it. but i though i would like it, and once it started to grow out its a pain.

When I straighten my hair it's smooth, sleek, and perfectly straight, but 5-10 minutes later it has waves and is no longer smooth and light like it was before. On certain days though it will remain nicer. How can I make my hair stay exactly the way it is right after I straighten it? Right now I use vo5 straighten up (which is a gel I put on right before straightening my hair and its supposed to keep hair STRAIGHT until the next wash) and I also use sunsilks straight hair cream. btw, I don't have curly or really wavy hair. It just gets waves at the bottom and when my hair is straightened it also is very sleek while when its wavy is sort of poofy and a bit frizzy.

use a good hairspray also to set it. Maybe go over it after you straighten it with the cold setting on your hair dryer. Also make sure your hair is COMPLETELY dry before you straighten. moisture contributes to your hair's attitude. If you are in a humid climate, it can't really be helped.

Okay. I LOVE the Scene Hair style. But I am afraid of what to do for my own hair. I do not want to cut it terribly short, but I do not want many hair extentions. I would want bangs, any kind would do. And recently I just got my hair to be straightened with the Brazilian hair straightening. And it really works for those out there who have strong curly or strong wavy hair. It makes my hair PERFECT for the scene style.

I've heard that people with curly hair comb their hair daily and it turns straight. And I use to have wavy hair but i twisted and twirled my hair so much that that part turned frizzy and curly.

So, if anybody has the research skills, please answer my question. I don't want to change it temporarily, I want to change the natural growing hair to straight. First, let me say that curly hair has curled up hair bulbs and straight and wavy hair has straight up hair bulbs.Heres an idea i have but i don't know if it will work: The tooth of the comb or brush will change the hair bulb and the new hair that grows will change according to what the hair bulb changes. So what kind of tooth should i use to change the bulb when i comb my hair? Please don't give me some funny answer.

1. dry with a towel not all the way just until its not dripping wet

2. comb hair with a wide tooth comb and make ur part

3. break hair into 3 sectionsone in the back and on each side

4. use an egg size amount of mousse on each section i use herbel essences totally twisted mousse

5. scrunch

6. to make my hair dry quicker in the winter when its cold i use a hair dryer after i scrunch it and also while scrunch it until its almost dry

7. every once in a while when its drying scrunch parts it to make sure it stays curly u can do this after blow drying too cause even when blow drying it i only do it a little

u may need less mousse than me because i have really long hair i use even more than an egg size amount but u may need less than an egg size

if this doesnt work try curlers but im no help with those i have

I have really wavy hair, but if I want to give it a different look that is still wavy and has a lot of body in it, After I wash my hair, while it is still wet, braid it. One braid on each side of your head.

what u should do is wash your hair with a deep conditioner to make it extra shiny. while its still wet, get some plastic curlers or if you don't have them, use rags (victorian style!)

My daughter had the same problem and because I had gone to beauty college I did a reverse perm on her hair. It worked great. First you have to follow the directions carefully. When you put the solution in your hair, be sure not to wrap it. Just comb it straight. don't move for the length of time required then do the next step trying not to move around much, rinse it well, comb it straight, let it dry and your hair will be straight. When you want curl, just use the curling iron.

I've heard that salt can make your hair curly// wavy. What brand would you prefer and does it actually work.

This summer i got a pool and our autopilot system automatically puts the chemicals in for us and adds salt when it is stable and doesn't need anymore chlorine or w/e. I have noticed that if i don't do anything to my hair and just let it dry it waves and kinda curls more than usual. i got curly hair like that so here goes my advice!!!!....hairstyles start at the shower so buy a shampoo that starts curlying your hair in the shower i suggets Panteen Pro-V Hydrating curls shampoo; its actually a shampoo and conditionare in one which is great!!!!....Wash and condition your hair.

Squeeze the water out. To scrunch it, you want it damp but not soaking wet or dripping.

Wrap your hair in a small towel. Do not rub your hair at all with the towel.

Comb your fingers or a wide-tooth comb through your hair

Spray hairspray in your hair. Put it near the middle and bottom of your hair. Putting it too close to your roots will cause it to look greasy and weighed down.

Turn your head upside down so that your hair is hanging down.

Put gel/mousse in your hands and rub them together to spread the gel/mousse.

Grab a small handful of hair by the ends and push it up toward the head. Hold it in place for a few moments while aiming the hair dryer at it to 'set' the gel/mousse/hair spray.

Repeat this all over your head, reapplying the gel every time. Keep in mind that small handfuls yield tighter waves and large handfuls create full, loose waves.

I burn myself using a blow-dryer and a brush. I try to straighten my hair that way, but it's just a poofy mess when I'm done, and not all my waves in my thick wavy hair are ironed out...and not all my thick wavy hair is dried either. I miss spots...a lot of spots. I've never personally used a straightener, and fear my lack of co-ordination will hurt me...but since the hair dryer isn't helping, I thought a straighter would do, so i don't have to use a comb simultaneously and still don't acheive straight hair. I have wavy, frizzy hair %26amp; want to have manageable curls. I wash, condition %26amp; let them air dry. most of the hair curl really well like this, but the top hair usually frizz out %26amp; don't form curls %26amp; make the shiny curls below them look bad. How can I make sure there's no frizz %26amp; curls are shining. I live in India %26amp; a lot of products might not be available here, so please suggest products which are available in India.

well I don't know exactly what products are available in India but I would assume you can find some sort of hair gel- curly hair WILL get frizzy if you don't put gel in it! just put a big blob in your hand, flip your head upside down, rub your palms together and then run your hands through your hair. Do this maybe 2 or 3 times, then scrunch it with a towel and try to touch it as little as possible, because if you separate the curls they will frizz!

also, never sleep with your hair in a ponytail if you can help it- it breaks off your hair and then the short hairs make your hair look frizzy.

as far as hairstyles, get some layers around your face. the fact that you have curly hair is good for a long face though because it won't lay flat against your head.

hmmm, I think any kind of anti frizz product you have over there would help......and a diffuser on your blow dryer, don't blow dry your hair all the way just enough so that the diffuser works....thes a tubular looking thing with a wide end that helps with frizz.......lets see........air drying you hair is ok depending on your weather......I know it gets REALLY hot over there and the heat especially with humidity is havoc on naturally curly hair.......here we have shampoos conditioners, frizz drops and styling products to help with frizz.......you can prolly order things on the net to be shipped to india.......Biosilk silk therapy is WONDERFUL! I don't know if you would have it over there. its like a hair serum that u buy in salons.......you can look that up.......also using some sort of mousse in your hair after you get out of the shower will help.......

I have naturally curly unruleing hair ! Seems I'm only one in family with this hair type , so I had to find out things on my own, so I would say twice a week for first month deep condition over night , with leave in treatment , you can try different ones to see which is best for your hair, also try to cut back on washing it ,like every other day , soap strips natural oils from hair. to keep my hair nice at night on non day I wash , I will place a bandanna or scarf on my head to keep it from not frizzing in morning, also try oils in hair , there are so many , I use a product I'm not sure is there called biosilk or silk works, and is great I put on every morning and leaves it nice and not to oily , you can also try baby lotion as well I have heard this works on some hair and baby oil only a little with the baby oil. when you wash use a conditioner made for frizzy hair and if you can get your hands ion CATWALK oatmeal shampoo and conditioner , buy it , it is great and smells good too . go to the health food store, get a bottle of aloe vera gel, not juice. it will be thick, clearish and a little bumpy. wash and condition your hair as usual, towel dry. pour some aloe vera gel into the hand, and squish out the lumps, distribute it through your hair. comb in through well, style as you would like, form the curls with your fingers, you can let it air dry then comb thru with your fingers or a wide tooth comb. this will calm the hair, make it very shiny and healthy looking without stickiness or odor. do not brush when wet.

i put the shampoo on my hair (obviously while its wet) and brush it through, that tends to get rid of the knots. i was advised to only brush my hair when i wash it, now i have crazy curls! yeah, anyway, then i wash the shampoo out and wrap a towel around my head to let it dry. i dont use a hair dryer because it actually takes away the moisture in your hair and makes things worse! then i take the towel off my head and don't do anything else to it! it's kinda simple really...

My hair is kind of curly, but not extremely. I would say that it is more wavy. Right now the length is really long; past my chest and about an inch or so above my belly button.

I've been wanting to get my hair cut forever, but I just don't know what to do. I want to cut it so I can donate it to Locks of Love, or another organization that makes hair into wigs for cancer patients. So I need to cut off at least ten inches.

I want to have a short hair cut that is suitable for curly/wavy hair, but I don't mind straightening it every now and then. Currently my hair is so hard to manage and I would love it to be much easier. But I don't mind spending 30-50 minutes on it every day.

You've got really great hair for all kinds of styles. Your jawline is wider than your temples, so I would steer clear of any styles that make the bottom part of your face look even wider. (Think curly triangle hair with ends level with the jawline). Plus, making the focal point of your hair closer to your eyes and further from your chin will make your gorgeous doe eyes stand out while making your jawline and braces "fade away".

I have been a hair stylist for 30 years and work with your hair type a great deal. I think your hair may curl a lot when the weight of the hair is removed. So you may prepare yourself to straighten your hair a bit more often if not all over, in the fringe at least. I recommend a shorter bob cut with some layering and a sweeping fringe. The longest length should reach between your mouth and your chin. The layering will ad some volume that will balance your very pretty features.

The hot look for summer now is the natural beach waves. You really don't need highlights, because people will just see them when they start growing out.

You're at an advantage since you already have naturally wavy hair. You can always touch up with a 1" curling iron, or use a curling cream.

Keep your hair long, and grow it out. But, not ridiculously long. Above the top of your stomach is the longest it should get.

buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.

then for waves, sleep in braids. I'm 25 y.o., and I have wavy, sometimes curly hair. It's medium in width, and tends to be dry (as most wavy/curly hair is).

My usual routine is shampoo every other day, condition every day, and finger work using kiehl's lotion and hair gel. This works fine.

I live in Pennsylvania now, but every time I travel, my hair goes wacky with whatever weather that region has.

I am traveling to the midwest and later to Arizona for work and I would like to hear from others their ideas on how to change my routine to avoid frizz city!

typically, humidity makes hair frizzy and curly and dry air makes it fly away and frizzy; either way, it's frizzy (argh! i hate it, too).

throw away any products with glycerine. they make hair worse in the long run.

If your hair is thick, you may want to have your stylist cut a few layers out; I know that sounds weird, but I had it done to my really thick hair. It used to be flat on the top of my head and go outwards as it got to the tips of my hair (kind of like the shape of a christmas tree) but then when the layers were cut out, my hair had a much nicer shape to it (straight down, like it should be). Also, since you have a round face shape, its often a good idea to keep your hair below the shoulders to elongate your face. Also, layers work well with a round face too, and you could do long, swept to the side bangs that fade into the layers (they'd come down to your nose or even a little longer, so they're not your regular bangs). I know you said no bangs though, so maybe not, but side-swept bangs would most likely look good on you with the layers and your larger forehead.

my hair is naturally curly/wavy, along with frizzy and poofy on occasions. it is cut all at one length now and falls a little past my shoulders. i was just wondering if i could get an emo cut that wouldnt require straightening all of it every day or getting it permenently straightened. i could live with just straightening any bangs though.

so with that in mind, if you have any suggestions, please tell.

I think a haircut like this would be good for you - it'd only require straightening your bangs. I know they're not very "emo" or "scene", but you're not going to be able to get that kind of style without straightening and razoring your whole hair. And if your hair's frizzy on occasion, you could use some sort of leave-in conditioner to make it look shiny and healthy. Good luck!

I have naturally dark brown/black hair straight hair. My hair almost never holds in styles, unless I put a bunch of hair gel and mousse-which I hate having in my hair, and pretty much refuse to use. Anywho, I have always loved wavy hair, but everytime I try to make my hair wavy it becomes straight in two hours or so. Any tips on making it wavy, without getting a perm or using a lot of gel (I don't mind a little, if it does truely get the job done)?

Mmhh I say:

-Wet your hair alittle

-Put ALITTLE mousse in it

-Braid ur hair into 4 braids

-Let the braids sit atleast 4 hrs. (overnight ideally)

-Undo the braids n put Garnier Fructis Surf Stlye Texturizing spray on ur hair (or any texturing spray)

-work the product through ur hair.

-Try to seperate the waves alittle to make them look more natural

-Atleast spray alittle finishing hair spray on ur hair

I had your same problem for years until I talked to my stylist, who gave me some excellent tips. First, only brush your hair before you shower, so that you're free of tangles. While washing your hair, be sure to only use a little shampoo and make sure your hair is very wet -- only shampoo the scalp. After shampooing, put plenty of conditioner on the tips of your hair, and leave it for a minute or two. When you get out of the shower, DO NOT brush your hair, comb it. You should have no problem getting a wide-toothed comb through if you brushed enough before washing your hair. If you want, apply some Redken "Ringlet" while your hair is damp. I hold curls well without drying out or making hair stiff like gel would. Good luck and I hope my advice helps! :]]

You could blow it mostly dry/straight, and then let it air dry the rest of the way, and it will wave a bit. If your hair is long enough, you could let in dry in a pony-tail or braid, which will definitely cut down on the curl. You could use large rollers, which will produce waves. You could falt iron it totally straight then curl loosely with a curling iron. Otherwise, just try using shine-enhancing, frizz-reducing shampoo, conditioner, and products.

dying gray is the hardest thing to do... if u use your own natural color which is black, it may turn out to be a greenish color. u have to go back to art and color basics sometimes whenit comes to using the right color. unless u are using one that specializes in gray coverage, u need to use a dark brown or something like that. the gray strands will have a tint to them after using any color that u use. as far as conditioner is concerned. if u are coloring use one for color treated hair and use a deep conditioner for dry hair. with the home colorin kits they come with conditioner and u need to also use another shamppo and conditioner to keep it soft and healthy.

strand test is a good idea for coloring testing and how long to keep it on and what the outcome will be.

for best results u should prob see a specialist the first time and then u keep up with the follow-ups

As the others said use a black hair dye.Many brands of dyes now come with conditioners in the box.Use a good quality shampoo,one that says for coloured hair and not a clarifying shampoo that will strip colour.Conditioning is important as well so maybe pick out a good shampoo and conditioner from the same brand.

You can always speak to the person at the cosmetics counter when you buy the dye or phone the number on the box and the company will answer all your questions.

As to the strand test..Nobody has the same time for leaving on hair dye.Some boxes say 20 mins but I have to keep mine on for 50 mins(after phoning the company and talking to them first!).Depending how long your hair is you might need two boxes of dye as well.

Make sure you follow the directions and do an allergy test with the dye as instructed on the box 24 hours before you use the dye.You might even ask someone to come over and help you the first few times as it's difficult to do the back of your head and sometimes there is a chance you can miss spots with the dye.

I use Clairol Hydrience and really like it and it covers my grey,also comes with conditioner for before and after you dye.

My hair is a bit wavy and very thick as well.

Hope this helps you and if you feel intimidated by doing it yourself you can always go to a professional and have them do it for you and then just do root touch ups when needed.

okay well i was born with pin straight hair. when i was one it was really really curly, then when i was like 3-6 it was straightish wavyish. and then it turned wavy. then when i was 9 it turned really curly again. and its been curly for like 5 years now. and this morning i woke up with wavy hair. its weird. why did it do that? like last week i wished i had wavy hair and i guess its just my luck, i had like beachy waves. and my hair was big and puffy. not frizzy though.

i want my hair back to curly. is there a way i can fix it without going to the hair salon and spending $60 on a perm when it'll just ruin my hair?

This is a question for any hairdressers or stylists out there. I have a photo shoot in a week. I'm getting headshots done so i can pursue my dance career. I just got my hair cut last week and so now its a little longer than my shoulders. My hair is dark brown and very wavy (some would call it curly i guess.) It looks curly to me but online they define my hair as wavy. I want it to look great for my shoot...how should i do it? Also I have kind of a bigger forehead, at least i think i do, and i don't have bangs because my hair is so think and crazy and how does a person with such wavy hair manage bangs? Should i get bangs? AS FAR AS THE FOREHEAD ISSUE, YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE BANGS. JUST WEAR YOUR HAIR IN A WAY THAT HIDES SOME OR MOST OF YOUR FOREHEAD, FOR EXAMPLE, PART IT ON THE SIDE AND SWEEP IT OVER THE FOREHEAD.

I WOULDN'T STYLE IT IN A WAY THAT IS SOMETHING THAT YOU DON'T EVER WEAR. WHOEVER SEES YOUR HEAD SHOTS NEEDS TO KNOW THAT YOU HAVE HARD TO MANAGE HAIR.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE LAYERS NOW, I WOULD SUGGEST GETTING SOME LAYERS AND HAVING THE SIDES FRAME YOUR FACE. IT WILL DETRACT FROM YOUR FOREHEAD.

I want to get my hair cut, but I need shape/cut ideas. I have VERY THICK, COURSE wavy hair that curls in some places, giving it a somewhat irregular/difficult curl/wave pattern. When straightened, my hair comes to the middle of my back (fairly long), and so curly it goes to about 6 inches or so below my shoulders. It takes very long to straighten, so I want a cut that is for curly/wavy wearing. I do not have 'full frontal bangs', but i have a side part very long bangs (about 6 inches long) that i wear straight (but would be willing to try to curl). I do not want to cut much length off at all, but I do want a new shape because it is SO THICK and BULKY that I cannot wear my hair all down (i either wear it half back or all back in a pony). I do not usually get it thinned because it just grows back thicker. Any suggestions? Layers? What do you think? PS it is strawberry blonde.

well if you want the bangs then go to the salon. For the waves i usually frenchbraid my hair into 2 braids when its mostly dry but a little damp. Too wet and it wont work too dry and it wont set. Sleep with it overnight and take it out in the morning.

Curly and wavy hair runs in my family. My mom's hair and my brother's hair used to be board straight. But when they were teenagers their hair got curly.

Im 14 and when I was 11 and younger my hair was very straight. When I turned 12 it started changing. I have to straighten my hair now and when I get out of the shower its all flipped out at the bottom and wavy on the sides, but the back it pretty much straight but it's ending up wavy as well.

Yes, your hair is changing because you have probably started puberty. The exact same thing happened to me, I used to have straight board straight hair and when I hit your age, my hair began becoming thicker and more wavy, now it's thick thick and wavy to the point I can't stand it.

But then again straighteners can be time consuming considering your hair length but if you want to have straight hair then you'll have to straighten every time you wash your hair OR get it permanently straighten it, although that is worse than straightening it every night.

I used to straighten my hair everyday but now that I have a full-time job that requires me to get up before the crack-*** of dawn I no longer have the time to do that. I need a haircut BAD. I have brown, very long, wavy/curly hair. I really like this cut and I would straighten it every once in awhile, but I don't know if my idea of maintenance, or lack thereof, would do. My regular routine is just wash and go. No blowdry, no nothing. Is this cut doable with my current situation?

Sure Wavy Hair looks nice on girls, sexy even. I'm ashamed of mine, its big and poofy and long, bunch of split ends. I dont even know what to do with it anymore. I'm not the type of crew cut guy, but every cut I like is for straight haired boys. I don't know what to do with my hair and its VERY distressing. I feel your pain. I have the same type of hair. What you can do is to put a little bit of hair goo (not de-frizzer, that's just going to make it look greasy) or mousse in it and let it air dry. This works with all lengths.

If you do it and it looks a little flat on top go to the stylist and have him or her put layers in it so the top doesn't look flat anymore.

I have a relaxer on my hair and it made my hair softer and really easy to brush, but it is still wavy. If you want pin straight hair than you should get japanese hair straightening. My friend has that and her hair is really straight. Be careful because it dries out some hair types! Also if you get scabs and stuff on your scalp sometimes do not get this done because you have to sit in the salon with chemicals in your hair for hours, and it will REALLY sting on cuts.

If you have used a permanent straightener in your hair already,it would not be wise to use any more chemicals because there is a chance that you'll have major hair breakage.I'd go to a salon and have a consultation before deciding what to do.

Stop using the Straigthning iron,and use a shampoo designerd for curly hair and use a leave in conditioner designed to bring out curls. Also when styling use Thermasilk Spray Curling Gel, it really brings out the natural curl and it holds it for a long time

Okay. I have naturally curly hair too. Spiraly and loose and long. I used to straighten my hair too. This might be a disappointing answer, but I strongly urge you not to get a perm. Instead, just stop blow drying and stuff. Start working with your curls. Buy the extra damaged, super moisturizing conditioners and shampoos for curly or wavy hair. Get the styling milks and 3-minute or 5-minute cream treatments. Personally, I really like the Pantene line of styling products.

As far as shampoo and conditioner goes, I don't think that the Pantene shampoo "makes" the styling products work any better than if you used Herbal Essences. I like the smell of it, so I use them and then use the Pantene styling products.

I don't wash my hair every night. You shouldn't. Your hair needs moisture and shampoo strips your cuticle for the conditioner to replenish the moisture. Your hair REALLY needs moisture, so I would suggest shampooing no more than three times a week. Honestly. It sounds gross, but trust me.

I like to refresh my curls every day by just lightly dampening my hair and fingering the curls to reshape them a little and then, rub a tiny bit of conditioner or the styling milk over the wet curls. It sets them to be frizz free for the day.

It's taken me a few years to find the right way to work with my hair, so there's a possibility that this might not work for you. Every curl is different! A girlfriend of mine has naturally curly hair as well - very Botticelli - and she likes to shampoo once a week and during the week fully wet her head and just use conditioner. This doesn't work quite well for me because my hair is very thick and hers is very soft. Anyway! I hope this helps!

it will put ur curl back.. my friend straighten her hair the curl it back.. it just damagged ur hair.. but treatment will do though..

Sweetie......It's the boobs that get the attention, not the hair.

Out of the list of things that guys notice on a girl (boobs, eyes, face, shape of the body, legs, etc, etc...) trust me, hair is waaayyyy at the bottom of the list!

Guys couldn't care less about a girl's hair. NO guy is gonna say "wow, look at that chic's hair...that's nice!" LOL! It'll never happen.

My point is this: do what YOU like done to your hair. The fact that YOU like it is what counts. Don't try to impress a guy with your hair. It ain't gonna work. So, have a hairstyle that pleases YOU.

If you like your hairstyle, it'll show in your confidence and the way you carry yourself....and THAT'S what guys will find attractive (not the hairstyle)
